Are you looking to get a Patagonia product branded with your company’s logo? During your research, you may have found some roadblocks in adding logos to Patagonia gear, and there are a few important reasons why.
WHY CAN'T I BRAND PATAGONIA GEAR WITH MY COMPANY LOGO?
The big reason is reusability. Patagonia is transitioning away from adding additional logos to their products as they are constantly making an effort to create goods that last for a really, really long time - forever, if possible. This all begins by developing well-made products, and even when frequently-used gear begins to wear down, they created Worn Wear, where it can be traded in and revived to be used again.
According to Patagonia’s website, even just adding two additional years to the lifecycle of a garment means an 82% reduced overall footprint. When a garment can be reused, repaired, and given new life repeatedly, it scores one of the biggest wins for sustainability. This is why Patagonia puts so much energy into the lifecycle of each product they sell.
Patagonia believes that branding their items with non-removable logos reduces the lifespan of an item. Although people may think donating items branded with a company’s logo that they no longer work for is an option, those items most likely won’t be purchased by anyone who doesn’t work for or identify with that company. Sadly, it is more likely that item will end up getting thrown away.
I STILL WANT TO PUT MY COMPANY'S LOGO ON HIGH-QUALITY OUTDOOR GEAR. WHAT ARE MY OPTIONS?
There are several other brands that we work with that offer high-quality items that are comparable to Patagonia. The North Face and Tentree are excellent alternatives that can be decorated with your logo.
Another option would be to embrace the idea of not branding your Patagonia gifts at all. Patagonia products make for exceptional gifts, and their label alone speaks volumes in quality and sustainability. Consider branding different items in your corporate gift boxes instead, and enjoy giving our selection of exceptional Patagonia gear unbranded.
I HAVE SEEN OTHER COMPANIES BRANDING PATAGONIA GEAR. WHY AREN'T YOU?
We respect Patagonia’s efforts in making sustainable choices that reflect their values as a company. We are also doing what we can to make less of an impact on the planet, which is why we chose to become 1% for the Planet members in 2021, and why we now partner with One Tree Planted to donate $1 of every shipment to plant a tree.
Because of these reasons, we have decided to respect Patagonia’s wishes and keep our practices aligned in a way that meets their requirements. We hope that other companies will follow suit.
Patagonia has chosen to move away from adding additional logos to their garments in an effort to continue their legacy of sustainability. We fully respect and support their decision and stand by their values in supporting a healthier planet for a better future.
